LOCATION

Western Massachusetts is a culturally diverse area from the hills of the Berkshires to the more urban underserved areas of Holyoke and Springfield. There is great hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities in this region as well as great coffee shops, breweries, museums and culture in the surrounding areas such as Northampton.

CURRICULUM

  • Intern YearBoot Camp (2 wks each inpatient and outpatient)

  • 3.5 Inpatient Rotations (including 1 nights, and ½ block inpatient admits)

  • 2 NICU

  • 1/2 Block dedicated continuity clinic

  • 1 Normal Newborn Nursery

  • 1 Pediatric ED

  • 1 Culture/Society/Health (CSH - Community/Advocacy)

  • 1 Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics

  • 1 Elective

  • Second Year (PL2)3 Inpatient Rotations (1 Inpatient admissions, 1 Manager, 1 Nights)

  • 1 NICU

  • 1 PICU

  • Adolescent Medicine

  • 1 urgent care

  • 1 Pediatric ED

  • 1 Culture/Society/Health (CSH) (advocacy)

  • 1 Behavioral Health -

  • 2 Electives

  • Third Year (PL3) Inpatient Rotations (1 Team Leader on Floor, 1 Night Supervisor)

  • 1 PICU month

  • 1 Ambulatory Chief (outpatient teaching)

  • 5 - 5.5 Electives

DIVERSITY INITIATIVES

  • Antiracism Curriculum for all trainees in Academic Half Day (~5-6 session 2 hr/session)

  • Microaggression Training for all trainees and faculty with plan to rollout to nurses and staff.
