Hi #PedsMatch2023 applicants! Navigating the match can be challenging and to keep a track of all the important dates and resources is even harder. We created a 2023 Match timeline to make it a little easier for you by having everything in one place.

2022

JUNE

Read about programs of interest and reach out to the ones you can for any opportunities they have for electives, sub-internships, or away rotations

Some resources to help with this - AAMC's list of participating specialties and programs, Residency Explorer, Doximity, FREIDA, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), FuturePedsRes

  • Review eligibility requirements for participating in ERAS, the NRMP Match, and for U.S. state medical licensure for IMGs (NRMP and ECFMG website)

  • Obtain your ERAS Token and register with your Token at AAMC’s MyERAS website

  • Start collecting and submitting your supporting documents. ECFMG’s Submission At-a-Glance could come in handy for some directions and information on methods for submitting ERAS documents and the associated processing times.

  • Approach your letter writers for letters of recommendation to be uploaded on the ERAS portal. Give them ample time to write one.

JULY and AUGUST
  • Work on your personal statement, curriculum vitae, and procuring other documents for the application. Make sure to check in with your mentors to review your application before submission.

  • Follow up with your letter writers to make sure they have uploaded your letters and your medical school to make sure they have uploaded the Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE).

  • Supplemental ERAS application opens for applicants on August 1.

SEPTEMBER
  • Make final tweaks to your application and get ready to send them in. Documents on your MyERAS should be uploaded no later than September 21 in order to be transmitted to programs on September 28.

  • On September 7 at 9:00 a.m. ET, you may begin applying to programs.

  • Registration for the NRMP Match opens on September 15 at 12:00 p.m. ET on the NRMP website.

  • Supplemental ERAS application closes for applicants at 5 p.m. ET.

  • On September 28 at 9:00 a.m. ET MSPEs are released to programs by ERAS and programs can begin accessing applications. All applications submitted before September 28 will appear to programs as submitted on September 28.
