Protected Didactic half-day/week
Advocacy and Pediatric Mental Health rotation for all 1st years
Nightshifts for Ward, NICU, PICU. On-call every 6-14 days
Majority of experience based at Harbor, but with diverse clinical sites for various experiences: Kaiser-Downey, Loyola Marymount University, The Children's Clinic Long Beach, Miller Children's Hospital (Long Beach), and UCLA
DIVERSITY INITIATIVES
Diversity committee - collaboration of residents and faculty that guide educational efforts in our department/curriculum.
Book Clubs to discuss articles, movies, books related to various topics to promote greater understanding/allyship for vulnerable and underrepresented populations
Topics woven into various aspects of our curriculum (Grand Rounds, Case Conference, Didactics and morning report) - Institutional diversity efforts including interdepartmental affinity groups
