Dual training experiences at “Top 10” freestanding children’s hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO), and community safety net hospital, Denver Health
7-state catchment area at CHCO with diverse urban and rural patient populations
Broad spectrum of outpatient clinical experiences, including: FQHCs, subspecialty clinics, private practice clinics, and complex care

Among graduates, approximately 50% pursue fellowship and 50% pursue primary care, urgent care, and hospital medicine
Pediatric fellowships offered in all subspecialties

Research Programs: American Board of Pediatrics Research Pathways for physician scientists, Stimulating Access to Research in Residency (STARR) 1-year program funded by NHLBI

Career Focused Education Block provides 6 months of flexible, individualized, and career-specific experiences under guidance of a faculty mentor
Academic Half Day and Longitudinal Small Group curricula protected time for dedicated clinical and non-clinical learning
Longitudinal code simulation curriculum equips residents with strong leadership skills in high acuity patient events
Combination of call and night float schedules with traditional continuity clinic afternoons throughout the year

Longitudinal Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Advocacy trainings woven throughout the three-year experience - Health Equity Rounds for residents and faculty
